Instructions: Step by step to a clean shower head

Descaling with removal

The easiest way to descale a shower head or hand shower is to remove it. Most models can simply be unscrewed from the shower hose. This allows you to work without space restrictions and enjoy maximum flexibility.

1. Dismount the shower head.

2. Carefully remove loose limescale and dirt with a soft toothbrush. Avoid the nozzles to prevent damage.

3. Fill a container with a vinegar-water or citric acid-water solution and place the shower head in it so that it is completely covered by the liquid.

4. Leave the solution to act for 1 to 2 hours. Move the shower head back and forth several times so that the solution can penetrate deeply.

6. Screw the shower head back on and let hot water run through for a few seconds. This will remove the last residues.

For a very large shower head, instead of a freezer bag, you can soak a soft cloth in citric acid and water and wrap it around the affected areas to effectively dissolve the limescale.
