Swiss Casino Winterthur: PROOX sanitary collection in Europe's most modern casino
Where locomotives were once built, roulette wheels now spin. The listed factory hall of Lokstadt Winterthur was converted into the Swiss Casino Winterthur for 20 million Swiss francs – opening in December 2025. A 15-ton chandelier hangs from an original gantry crane above the "LOK" bar. The ambition: Europe's most modern casino.
The Project
Swiss Casino Winterthur is located in the heart of Lokstadt Winterthur, one of the region's most ambitious area developments. The conversion of the former industrial hall into a contemporary entertainment center placed high demands on all finishing trades – including the sanitary equipment.
Armatron AG equipped the casino's sanitary areas with a complete collection from the Swiss premium brand PROOX. The equipment includes electronic foam and cream soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, waste bins, sanitary waste bins, and behind-mirror solutions for soap and paper towels – all coordinated in a uniform design language.
Why PROOX
PROOX stands for clear geometry, perforated fronts, and a material thickness of 1.5 mm, designed to withstand daily high-frequency operation. For a casino expecting 160,000 to 180,000 visitors per year, this was the right choice: no compromise between aesthetics and function.
The behind-mirror solutions – electronic soap dispenser and paper towel dispenser, both installed behind the mirror – allow for a tidy, flush-mounted washroom design without visible brackets. Perfectly in line with the project's demands.
