A touchless faucet makes sense wherever you want to touch as little as possible. Especially objects used by many different people are quickly considered unhygienic. In restaurants, businesses, and public restrooms, hygiene determines health and impression. Cross-contamination in sanitary areas is particularly critical: bacteria and viruses travel from hand to hand through contact with fixtures. Electronic faucets avoid this because they function without contact. As soon as you hold your hand under the spout, an integrated infrared sensor detects the movement and triggers the water flow. There is no need to operate a rotary handle or lever, and hand hygiene is maintained even in heavily frequented washrooms.

At the same time, touchless fixtures noticeably save water. The water flows exactly as long as you hold your hands under the faucet. If you soap your hands outside the sensor range, the water stops in the meantime, which significantly reduces the amount of water used. Unused running water and post-flow are thus a thing of the past. Compared to conventional fixtures, more than 50 percent of water can be saved, which reduces both consumption and costs.

Electronic faucets also remain economical in terms of energy consumption. They are operated via power adapter or battery, in both cases with sustainably low power consumption and a long service life. Thus, a touchless faucet combines precisely the properties that are important in professional sanitary areas: hygiene, efficiency, and sustainability.
