When you buy a product, such as a hand dryer, you receive a fixed warranty period. If it malfunctions during this period, you can return it to the manufacturer. Wear parts are generally not covered by the warranty. Many manufacturers and retailers advise buying a new product, but a replacement part is almost always available.

Flaws of the "throwaway society"

When a machine malfunctions, many people tend to buy a new one rather than repairing it and replacing parts. This is not environmentally friendly; on the contrary, the production of electronic waste burdens society and the environment.
Spare parts are available – even after many years. Visually it may not be state-of-the-art - but spare parts such as locks and keys are still available even after many years.
Throwing things away instead of repairing and acting in an environmentally friendly way is the easiest and most damaging path. Industry, commerce, and politics repeatedly say... Sustainability is the key factor, but the results can only be measured by the actions of the parties involved. Why is so little replacement part used to keep older devices operational?
