UP, AP, ouchhhh? The 1×1 of mounting types!

On our website you will probably come across terms such as flush-mounted, surface-mounted, flush-mounted, wall-mounted or wall-mounted. Technical jargon for you? Then you've come to the right place. We will try to shed some light on the subject in the next few lines.

AP (surface mounting)

Surface mounting (abbreviation AP) refers to installation on a regular wall. The wall does not require any recess or other preparation. The product is simply mounted on the wall and projects away from the wall in its full depth.

It is therefore a simple Wall mounting.

UP (flush mounting)

Flush-mounted installation (abbreviation UP) refers to installation under plaster. In this case, the product is partially or even completely installed in the wall. This requires a recess in the wall. After installation, the product protrudes only marginally from the wall or is even completely flush with the wall.

It is therefore a Wall installation.
